Street art meets a sweet heart. Monique Jenkins, San Diego based artist who doesn’t lack anything in the creative department. From traditional print designs to socially inspired paintings…the girl has range…range like rover. She blends modern fashion and music to current issues in society.

Monique’s painting's collate different past and present experiences that remain a vital influence in her work. Incorporating a wide range of different styles from figurative to graffiti. She incorporates a wide range of faceless figures to give the viewer a pique of who they are. Monique is surrounded by her family's roots which employs a broad range in her pieces. She graduated from the Art institute of California- San Diego with a B.S in Advertising. In the past 3 years she kept a steady career in illustration and design doing projects for clients. Coming in the art world as an emerging artist, she feels she’s no novice in what she does when picking up a paint brush. She had the opportunity to showcase her pieces from different venues from The Rush Philanthropic Art Foundation in Los Angeles to local art shows in San Diego which she plans to showcase beyond California borders.

She brings beauty to the body language. She uses subjects that are the most common issues in society and twist it in an unconventional way. As of Oct 2009 Monique  was given a chance to be apart of "The Dope Show Crew",  a collective of San Diego artists and musicians that have been putting together art shows all over the city since 2007. She is currently working on a collection of paintings called the "Before the Interview." It  focuses on individuals concept identity in the current job market.
